Deregistration of child's place of residence now available in Diia

From now on, parents can deregister a child under 14 years of age from their registered place of residence online via the Diia portal. For this purpose, both mother and father can provide consent remotely. In addition, there is an option to deregister oneself and a young child simultaneously.

This is convenient when one parent is abroad or serving in the military, or if the family is selling a home. There is no need to visit a notary separately or transfer physical documents.

How to do this:

  1. Log in to the Diia portal and go to Services ➔ All services ➔ Change of place of residence ➔ Deregister from place of residence.
  2. Verify your details. If necessary, update them in your personal account.
  3. Indicate whether you have children and whether you are liable for military service.
  4. Select whether you want to deregister only the child or yourself together with the child.
  5. Check the address where you are currently registered.
  6. If deregistering a child, check their details and specify the details of the second parent.
  7. The second parent must provide consent online.
  8. Sign the application with Diia.Signature or QES, and pay the administrative fee.

The service is available if:

  • the child is under 14 years of age (from the age of 14, children submit the application independently);
  • both parents are citizens of Ukraine;
  • you have a tax ID and Diia.Signature or QES;
  • the child has a Ukrainian birth certificate.

If you are liable for military service

You can deregister only the child.

If there is a need to deregister an adult and a child simultaneously, this option is not yet available for individuals liable for military service.

The service can also be obtained at an Administrative Service Centre.
