In autumn, Mriia will begin testing a gamification system for pupils

This autumn, piloting of the national gamification system for pupils will begin in Mriia. It will help children notice their own progress, maintain regular study habits, and stay motivated. The system will initially be tested in 100 selected educational institutions across various regions of Ukraine.

Pupils in pilot schools will gain access to new capabilities:

  • 'Mriiky' – in-app currency. It will be awarded for regularly completing homework, participating in quizzes, watching educational content, and other useful activities.
  • 'Kmitlyvky' – short daily quizzes on various educational topics.
  • 'Kramnychka' – a section where accumulated 'mriiky' can be exchanged for rewards from partners. Among them are cinema tickets, VR quests, masterclasses, tutoring sessions, and gift vouchers for books or toys.

'Mriiky' will not depend on grades. Pupils will receive them for regular learning and other useful activities, and will be able to exchange their accumulated 'mriiky' for rewards in the store.

Rewards for the store will be provided by Ukrainian businesses – from large companies to local projects. Businesses wishing to join the national gamification system can submit an application on the Mriia website: https://mriia.gov.ua/app

Management of educational institutions already using Mriia and wishing to take part in the piloting can submit an application via the link.

Following the completion of the pilot, the gamification system is planned to be gradually scaled up to all educational institutions connected to Mriia. Before that, the team will analyse feedback from pupils, parents, and educators, and refine the system.

Mriia is an initiative of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, implemented by the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine jointly with Swiss-Ukrainian EGAP Program, implemented by East Europe Foundation with support from Switzerland.
