Electronic Licensing Register for medical practice launches in Ukraine

A phased transition to a digital format for obtaining medical practice licences has begun in Ukraine. From now on, newly established healthcare facilities and sole proprietors (FOPs) applying for a licence for the first time can submit documents through the electronic Licensing Register.

Benefits of the new service include:

  • online document submission in just a few clicks without visiting institutions;
  • no paper copies of documents required;
  • automatic data verification;
  • the ability to track the application review status in a personal account;
  • user technical support.

To submit an application, it is necessary to have the head's Qualified Electronic Signature, which is used for authorisation and signing documents.

Currently, the digital service is available for those obtaining a medical practice licence for the first time. For existing licensees, the options to amend, expand activities, suspend, or terminate their licence remain available in paper and electronic formats by applying directly to the licensing authority.

In the future, the capabilities of the electronic Licensing Register will be expanded, and existing licensees will gain access to new digital services.

The electronic Licensing Register was created with the support of Swiss-Ukrainian EGAP Program, implemented by East Europe Foundation.
