No paper applications: Ukraine issues first medical practice licence via electronic register
Ukraine has issued the first licence to conduct business activities in medical practice based on an application submitted online through the new electronic Licensing Register of the Ministry of Health.
Sole proprietor doctor Anastasiia Koval received a licence to practice medicine in the medical specialties of dietetics, endocrinology, and nephrology.
'When the opportunity to submit an application via the electronic Licensing Register became available, I decided to use it. I have already recommended this service to several colleagues, as today it is a truly convenient way to submit documents, and the ability to track the application status in real time is a major advantage,' says endocrinologist and dietitian Anastasiia Koval.
Later, the doctor independently generated an extract from the electronic Licensing Register in her personal account. This took just a few minutes, whereas previously, to obtain such a document, one had to apply separately to the licensing authority.
Newly established legal entities and sole proprietors obtaining a licence to conduct business activities in medical practice for the first time can use the new digital service.
The electronic Licensing Register makes it possible to:
- submit an application and all documents fully online;
- automatically verify part of the information against state registers;
- track the status of application processing in one's personal account.
In subsequent stages of the Licensing Register's development, it will become possible to make changes to a licence, as well as expand, suspend, or terminate activities.
The electronic Licensing Register was created with support from Swiss-Ukrainian EGAP Program, implemented by East Europe Foundation.
