200 series on Diia.Education: the story of a lecturer and scientist from Irpin
For Svitlana Zaiets from Irpin, learning has long been a part of daily life. She watches educational series on the Diia.Education platform on public transport, between lectures, and during short breaks when she has free time. Over a few years, Svitlana has watched more than 200 series and now helps colleagues and students master digital tools.
Svitlana learnt about the platform back in 2019 when she heard about the launch of digital initiatives in Ukraine. She began using Diia.Education frequently during the quarantine when learning and work shifted online. It was then that she became interested in the short series format instead of long lectures. This approach allowed her to study at her own pace and easily combine education with work.
Svitlana's first course was the series ‘Digital Literacy for Civil Servants Based on Google’. As a lecturer and scientist, she wanted to better master digital tools because their importance for education and research was steadily growing.
Over time, learning became a habit.
"Diia.Education has become a format of useful and exciting leisure for me. When the number of courses crossed the first hundred, I realised: this is no longer just curiosity, but an integral part of my day," says Svitlana.
On average, one educational series takes 1–2 hours. To speed up her learning, Svitlana often watches materials at double speed and takes tests immediately after each episode.
She uses the knowledge from the platform daily in her work: she organises the educational process using digital tools, works with Google services for research and teaching, implements modern formats for interaction with students, and teaches them safety in the online environment.
Svitlana has become a kind of digital ambassador in her circle. She helps relatives and colleagues use online services and discover new digital opportunities.
Among more than 200 educational series, Svitlana remembers best:
"Electronic Signature" – helped transition to paperless document management.
"Cryptoliteracy and Blockchain" – gave a deeper understanding of the digital economy.
"ChatGPT for Improving Personal Efficiency" – opened up new opportunities for using artificial intelligence in work.
Today, Svitlana plans to develop as a mentor and share her experience with other lecturers and students. She is convinced that the main advantage of Diia.Education lies in its simple format, which helps people learn at any age and with any schedule.
The strategic partner of the Diia.Education platform is Swiss-Ukrainian EGAP Program, implemented by East Europe Foundation. The platform's update in 2023 and the integration of AI tools are implemented by the Ministry of Digital Transformation with support from Google.org.
