Change of place of residence online

Objective

To provide citizens with the opportunity to change their place of residence easily without unnecessary paperwork. Provide comprehensive service – it is now possible to automatically generate transcripts about the place of residence for both an adult and a child.

Change of residence online is a service that allows you to electronically submit a declaration on change of residence.

Because of martial law in Ukraine, the service is available only to non-commandeered women and children.

Our Contribution

The service was developed by EGAP and the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine in 2021. After the e-Baby service was launched on the Diia portal in combination with the service for registering a child’s place of residence on the Diia portal, a need appeared to create a similar service for all Ukrainians, not only newborns and children under 14.

In May 2021, we launched a pilot project on electronically declaring a place of residence for adults. The service was available both on the portal and a mobile app. A few months later, the service was improved and became fully automated.

Our partner is the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, which checks real estate data that is used as the address to register place of residence for the applicant as well as data included in the birth certificate of the child.
