To make it possible to get married even if there is a distance between the lovers. This is the world's first service that allows people to get married online via video - in a few clicks and without bureaucracy. 

How it works: 

Online marriage is available in Diia. 

To use the service:

- one of the partners sends an offer to the other partner in any available messenger;

- the other partner has to respond and provide their data for the application within 12 hours;

- then the system itself offers free dates, but not earlier than 5 days before the ceremony. 

The marriage process takes less than 30 minutes via video communication on the Cisco Webex platform. The marriage certificate will be displayed in Diia, and a paper version will be sent by mail - no need to visit any institutions.

In Diia, one can also specify what the surname will be after the marriage: keep one's own, take the partner's surname, or make it a double surname. 

If necessary, one can also cancel the marriage application through Diia and re-submit it at any time.

The service was developed by the Ministry of Digital Transformation jointly with the Ministry of Justice, the State Enterprise National Information Systems, the Digital Office of the Civil Registry Office, the State Migration Service, and JSC “Ukrposhta” with the support of the Swiss-Ukrainian EGAP program implemented by East Europe Foundation.
