For whom

Communities that seek to improve residents’ digital literacy and make digital services accessible to everyone.

Goal

To build a culture of using digital opportunities and establish a network of specialists within communities who are capable of teaching others how to use digital tools — from basic smartphone settings to accessing electronic services. This enables communities to sustainably develop digital skills among residents, reduce the digital divide, and strengthen trust in e-services.

Details
Digital Transformation Champions completed training delivered by EGAP Program focused on digital literacy, digital hygiene, and adult learning methodologies.
After the training, they began working in their communities and now:

  • conduct group training sessions for community residents (50+);
  • provide individual consultations on using smartphones, applications, online services, and e-services;
  • adapt learning formats to the needs of different audiences — from older adults to youth, teachers, and local government staff.

The project enables communities to teach residents digital skills in a convenient and easy-to-understand format. It demonstrates that technology can be mastered at any age, and that local support makes this process easier while encouraging confident and fear-free use of digital services.

Our contribution

EGAP Program launched the project in 2023, conducted a competitive selection of 20 Digital Transformation Champions in pilot communities, and organised a pilot comprehensive training program for them. The participants developed skills in digital services and e-services, mastered curriculum design, teaching methodology, and working with older adults. Preparations for replication and scaling of the initiative are ongoing.
