More than 1 million Ukrainians have opened sole proprietorships via Diia

Ukrainians have already registered more than 1 million sole proprietorships (FOPs) online via the Diia portal: without queues, paperwork, or the involvement of a state registrar.

The service is most actively used in:

  • Kyiv city
  • Dnipropetrovsk
  • Lviv
  • Kyiv
  • Kharkiv, and
  • Odesa regions.

Among those newly registered, 60% are women and 40% are men.

Approximately 600 FOPs are registered in Ukraine every day. The procedure takes only two seconds, from submitting the application to registration.

Entrepreneurs most often choose the following sectors: retail trade via the internet or mail orders, computer programming, retail trade of food and beverages in shops, as well as educational services and other information services.

To register a business on the Diia portal, one needs to fill in a form and sign the application with an electronic signature. NACE codes (KVEDs) can be updated free of charge if necessary. A video instruction is available via the link.

The service was implemented by the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine within EGAP Program, implemented by East Europe Foundation with the support of Switzerland.
