Electronic Internship Placement System
Nearly 6,000 medical interns have started their internship training this year, with approximately half of them assigned to state-funded positions through an electronic placement system.
For the first time, the electronic ranking-based internship placement system (ERIPS) was used to distribute applicants to government-funded internship programs. The system took into account graduates’ academic performance and preferences.
Graduates with higher rankings had priority in choosing their internship placements. Each graduate could submit up to five applications for preferred positions and was placed in one of them.
During the main placement phase, 2,738 graduates were assigned to state-funded internship positions.
The majority of interns were placed in medical institutions in Kyiv (1,312), Lviv (674), Ivano-Frankivsk (449), Ternopil (439), Odesa (390), and Sumy (387) regions.
As a reminder, the electronic ranking-based internship placement system launched this year. It automatically calculated competitive scores and graduate rankings, and carried out the placement process without external influence — ensuring transparency and objectivity.
The system was developed by the Ministry of Health in cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine on the Diia.Engine Platform with support of Swiss-Ukrainian EGAP Program, implemented by East Europe Foundation.
