2,000 schools join Mriia

Over 2,000 schools from across Ukraine have begun the new academic year with the Mriia educational ecosystem.

On 1 September, thousands of Ukrainian schools are starting the new academic year together with Mriia — the state digital educational ecosystem. One in every six schools in Ukraine has already joined it. For the first time, Mriia is being implemented simultaneously across the entire country — from Zakarpattia to Donetsk region, and from Sumy to Kherson region.

The Mriia Platform

Mriia is a web portal and a mobile application for teachers, school administrations, children, and their parents. For teachers, it is a tool that saves hours of routine work. For students, it is an opportunity to unlock their potential. For parents, it is a way to be more engaged in their children’s school life.

The Mriia ecosystem is being created by the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the Ministry of Education and Science, on the initiative of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in partnership with the Swiss-Ukrainian EGAP Program, implemented by East Europe Foundation.

“Today, Mriia covers over a million participants of the educational process from all over Ukraine — and this is just the beginning. This year, we are launching an extracurricular activities catalog, and the piloting of preschool education, as well as the development of a concept for higher education institutions, will start in 2026. This will be the first time a single digital ecosystem unites several educational levels. Mriia will accompany Ukrainians from kindergartens to HEIs and adult learning, so that the concept of continuous lifelong learning replaces the outdated 'getting a diploma' approach,” Mykhailo Fedorov, First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine — Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.

With the help of Mriia, school administrations and teachers perform their usual tasks but in a unified digital environment. This frees up time for the main focus — working with children. Such a comprehensive solution is accessible to every school, regardless of its size, experience with digital tools, or learning format.

“It is important to us and our colleagues at the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine that digital tools do not complicate teachers’ work but help them. Mriia allows replacing paper journals and diaries, reducing the amount of routine, and making the educational process more transparent and convenient for everyone concerned. This is another step towards modern education, where the child and their development are at the centre,” Oksen Lisovyi, Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine.

The application expands access to quality knowledge: already, children have access to educational content in Mriia from leading educational platforms, which is recommended to them by artificial intelligence (AI) according to their interests. Subsequently, AI will create individual educational trajectories for children.

“The over 2,000 schools that have already connected to Mriia are not just a number. It is a signal that Ukrainian schools are ready to change, despite complex challenges. We are pleased to be part of this transformation — and will continue to do everything to ensure that students, teachers, and parents feel the real changes that make learning more modern, convenient, and closer to everyone,” Victor Liakh, East Europe Foundation President.

Mriia is also teaming up with socially responsible businesses. In this academic year, a partner shop will begin operating in the application for children, where students will receive movie tickets, VR quests, access to workshops and courses, certificates, books, stationery, etc., for academic excellence.

Mriia is free and voluntary; each educational institution independently decides on connection and can apply now via the link.

Mriia is an initiative of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, which is being implemented by Ministry of Digital Transformation and the Ministry of Education & Science, together with EGAP Program, implemented by East Europe Foundation with the support of Switzerland.
