Diia.Education launches AI Mentor for personalised learning

Diia.Education is beginning to integrate artificial intelligence tools in collaboration with Google.org, utilising the Gemini language model. The first step is the AI Mentor — a personal digital assistant that helps users navigate educational content and learn.

"AI is already the norm for the state, business, and education. It changes markets faster than professions can update. According to global forecasts, these changes will create 170 million new jobs by 2030. This means one thing: the path from knowledge to skills must be as short as possible. For over 3 million users, Diia.Education is becoming a point for rapid skills acquisition. That is why we are launching the AI Mentor on Diia.Education — a tool that will help people learn faster and more effectively," notes Valeriya Ionan, Advisor to the First Vice Prime Minister — Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine on Innovation, Digitalisation, and Global Partnerships.

How the AI Mentor can help within educational products on the platform:

  • Promptly summarises the content and practical value of learning materials;
  • Explains complex terms and professional vocabulary in simple language;
  • Generates brief notes with the key ideas of lessons.

This will help users stay on track with their learning materials: they can ask questions, receive explanations, and confidently study until the completion of a course without losing interest.

How to try the new learning format with personal support from the AI Mentor:

  1. Log in to the Diia.Education platform;
  2. Open the page of the desired educational series, simulator, "byte", or guide;
  3. Click on the "AI Mentor" icon in the bottom right corner of the screen and start a conversation regarding the selected material.

The next tool will be the AI Guide — a navigator for selecting learning materials and forming personalised educational pathways among 700+ educational products.

"We support Diia.Education as a platform that makes learning more accessible and closer to people’s needs. The integration of AI tools is a logical step in the development of personalised education, where technology works for the user’s benefit rather than complicating the process," states Victor Liakh, President of East Europe Foundation.

The strategic partner of the Diia.Education platform is the Swiss-Ukrainian EGAP Program, implemented by East Europe Foundation. The platform’s 2023 update and the integration of AI tools are implemented by the Ministry of Digital Transformation with the support of Google.org.
