Diia.Osvita recognized among the world’s best EdTech Projects by the Learning Technologies Awards
Ukraine’s national platform for up-to-date knowledge and skills, Diia.Education, has won a bronze award in the category Best Use of Blended Learning — Public & Non-Profit Sector at the prestigious international Learning Technologies Awards 2025.
The Learning Technologies Awards is one of Europe’s most well-known recognitions in the field of educational technologies. Each year, it brings together leading EdTech projects from around the world and features 21 award categories.
The international jury recognized Diia.Education for its thoughtful learning design:
“This work is an outstanding example of learning design that strengthens national resilience and social progress. The judges were impressed by Diia.Education’s accessible, scalable, and innovative approach that connects technology with a clear social mission.”
The Best Use of Blended Learning — Public & Non-Profit Sector category highlights initiatives that successfully combine online learning with physical infrastructure in a coherent model.
Diia.Education presented a comprehensive ecosystem that includes:
• An online platform with nearly 3 million registered users.
• Educational content: learning series, simulations, tests, guides, and short “Skill Bytes.” In total, users have access to 710 learning products across 7 formats. All content includes subtitles, sign-language interpretation, alternative text, and accessibility settings.
• Offline digital education hubs.
A network of 5,000 learning spaces in libraries, schools, universities, administrative service centers, IT companies, and NGOs across the country. Ukrainians can study offline with support from facilitators. Over the past three years, almost 40,000 people have completed training in library-based hubs — including 37,000 learners and more than 2,500 coordinators who help their communities improve digital skills.
• IT Studios for schools.
A modern informatics module with hundreds of interactive lessons and exercises, already implemented in more than 35% of Ukrainian schools. According to surveys after the pilot, by the end of the 2022–2023 academic year, 95% of teachers were ready to recommend the IT Studios to colleagues, while the remaining 5% would do so after improvements.
“This is an important international recognition of Ukraine’s public-sector EdTech. Being acknowledged in London shows that our digital solutions are competitive globally. And we also see national recognition: research shows that Diia.Education has already become the most well-known digital learning platform in the country — 48% of adults, 45% of teenagers, 32% of people with hearing impairments, and 82% of people with visual impairments are aware of it. We continue to make Diia.Education even more accessible and innovative: we are launching the first AI-based tools, updating IT Studios lessons, and expanding the network of digital education hubs across Ukraine,” said Valeriia Ionan, Advisor to the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine on Innovation, Digitalization, and Global Partnerships.
The bronze award at the Learning Technologies Awards 2025 confirms that Ukraine is creating modern, scalable, and inclusive educational solutions that meet international standards and strengthen the country’s digital resilience.
“Educational projects are one of the key areas of East Europe Foundation’s work, as we deeply understand the state’s need to develop strong human capital. That’s why the international recognition of Diia.Education is especially meaningful for us. This award confirms that Ukraine is creating modern and scalable solutions that meet global standards and truly advance accessibility and inclusion in education. We will continue supporting the platform’s development so that millions of Ukrainians can gain relevant skills and move forward with confidence — during the war and throughout the country’s recovery,” emphasized Victor Liakh, President of East Europe Foundation.
The strategic partner of Diia.Education is the Swiss-Ukrainian EGAP Program, implemented by East Europe Foundation. The platform was updated in 2023 on the initiative of the Ministry of Digital Transformation with support from Google.org.
Training for coordinators of offline digital education hubs is carried out by the Ministry of Digital Transformation together with the Ukrainian Library Association within the “Diia Support Project”, implemented by UNDP with funding from Sweden.
