Ukrainians can now submit a claim in Diia for compensation for loss of paid employment due to Russia's actions

Ukrainians who lost paid employment or self-employment income due to Russia's actions can submit a claim for compensation in category A3.4 'Loss of paid employment'. This concerns losses incurred since 24 February 2022.

Who can submit a claim

Claims can be submitted by individuals who:

• worked under an employment contract or agreement;
• performed work under a civil law contract;
• were self-employed;
• worked under an oral contract;
• worked or provided services without a written or oral contract, but received payment for it.

Claims apply to Ukrainians who were in the territory of Ukraine within its internationally recognised borders.

How to do this

• Log in to the Diia portal.
• Select the section Reparations: international Register of Damage.
• Choose category A3.4 Loss of paid employment.
• Fill in the claim form and attach evidence if available.
• Sign with an electronic signature and send it.

If you are a sole proprietor and lost business profit, submit a claim under a separate category – A3.5 Loss of private entrepreneurship.

The Register was created to collect claims for compensation for loss, damage, or injury caused after 24 February 2022 on the territory of Ukraine as a result of internationally wrongful acts of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. The service is implemented by the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the Ministry of Justice. Development of the service is supported by Swiss-Ukrainian EGAP Program, implemented by East Europe Foundation.
